Anne-Sophie ASP Pepin

I obtained my Bachelor’s and PhD degrees at McGill university in the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on various projects studying the role of DNA methylation in transcriptional regulation. Combining animal models, epigenomics and transcriptomics data, and bioinformatics approaches, in the Kimmins research group, my doctoral thesis aimed at exploring the consequences of paternal diet-induced obesity on the sperm chromatin, embryonic and placental development, and offspring metabolic health. For my postdoctoral work, I joined the Schneider group at Helmholtz Munich in November 2022, to pursue my interests in the crosstalk between metabolism and the epigenome. My current work involved the development of an experimental and computational framework for single-cell multi-omics profiling to study the influence of metabolism on epigenetic and transcriptional regulation in the context of trophoblast and placental development. My research is supported by a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship.
