Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are essential to fostering an equitable, inclusive and thriving scientific community. The Society for Reproductive Biology (SRB) undertook a member survey to better understand the diversity of its community, identify areas of strength, and uncover opportunities to strengthen equity and inclusion across the Society. The survey explored demographic representation, members’ experiences of inclusion and belonging, participation in Society activities, and perceptions of opportunities and barriers within the SRB. Findings from the survey provide an important baseline against which future initiatives can be developed and evaluated. Areas of strength demonstrate the Society’s existing commitment to an inclusive reproductive biology community, while identified gaps highlight opportunities for targeted action across membership, leadership, scientific programs, career development and engagement. This presentation will summarise key findings from the survey and discuss how these insights can inform the SRB’s future DEI priorities, ensuring that the Society continues to evolve in response to the needs and experiences of its community. The session will be followed by presentations from two emerging leaders within SRB, sharing their journey and how inclusion, diversity and equity is key to shaping research excellence.
